My name is Dawnieka Green. Everyone calls me Nieka, but my students/players call me Coach Green. I am currently employed as a Health and Physical Education teacher by the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice. Although my setting is much different than most, my expectations of my students are still the same, if not more. I completed my Undergraduate degree in Physical Education at Lane College (Go Dragons!). Following my undergrad degree, I went on to pursue a M.Ed degree at Northcentral University (Go NCU!). My M.Ed degree is in Education with a specialization in Athletic Coaching. I am currently pursuing a M.A.T. degree at Georgia State University (Go Panthers!) in Health and Physical Education. During these past years I have coached basketball on the collegiate level, as well as the high school level. Sports literally changed my life and that is why I am so passionate about becoming the best Health and PE teacher that I can. Growing up I was afforded the opportunity to be exposed to and participate in many sports. I learned many lessons of life through sports too. It is my goal to awaken the champion in each student that I encounter, teach them lessons that will make them productive people, and cultivate a spirit of lifelong healthiness.
